Fliss is a qualified Design Technology teacher, specialising in Textiles. Fliss has been teaching Textiles, Art, Food and Product Design at secondary level in schools over the course of 10 years now.

Fliss has a degree in Fashion Design and has worked as an independent designer, community artist, teacher, tutor, chip shop assistant and many other random things until she decided that the way forward was to combine her passions and whilst on maternity leave, instead of watching Jeremy Kyle and the like, she decided to take the plunge and launch The Crafts Collective!

Niki's passion for making came from watching her mum when she was young.  She would sew, knit, crochet, bake, make soft toys and even flower arrange.

Niki graduated from Cumbria College of Art & Design with a Degree in Ceramics and Textiles. Niki works mainly with clay but also dabbles in candle making using vintage china tea cups, she also creates ceramic wedding favours and decorations. Having taught Art & Design at secondary level for over 10 years, Niki has also found the time alongside this to be a mother and pursue her crafty passion.
